Job Description

ITJobs.lk is exclusively recruiting on behalf of a leading technology client based in the United States, seeking an experienced Backend Developer to work with them fully remotely from Sri Lanka.

This is a full-time, challenging role requiring commitment to the US Eastern Standard Time (EST) or Pacific Time (PST) work schedule.

 

The Role: Backend Powerhouse

You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems. This role is crucial for our core application infrastructure and requires deep expertise in two primary languages.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-throughput microservices using Java (Spring/Spring Boot).
  • Build and deploy scalable API endpoints using Node.js and related frameworks (e.g., Express).
  • Design and optimize database schemas and queries (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization systems.
  • Collaborate with US-based product and front-end teams to integrate services.

 

Required Profile

  • Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of professional experience as a dedicated Backend Developer.
  • Dual Language Expertise: Proven proficiency in both Java and Node.js environments.
  • Frameworks: Hands-on experience with modern frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Express.js).
  • Database: Strong knowledge of SQL and query optimization (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • APIs: Experience designing and implementing RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
  • Commitment: Must be able to consistently work full-time according to the US Time Zone (EST/PST).
  • Location: Must be a resident of Sri Lanka and legally eligible for remote contract work.
