The Opportunity
Our client, a recognized leader in the Sri Lankan IT industry, is urgently seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer to join their dynamic team in Colombo. This is a crucial hybrid role (requiring 3 days onsite engagement) for an expert who can seamlessly transition between strategic manual testing and advanced automation framework development.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be expected to drive quality assurance across multiple development lifecycles:
- Test Strategy & Execution: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive test strategies for both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Automation Expertise: Design, build, and enhance robust test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) using programming languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Manual Testing: Execute detailed manual testing, including exploratory, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring product stability and excellent user experience.
- Agile Methodology: Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies (Scrum, planning, retrospectives), ensuring quality is embedded early in the development process.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, perform code reviews, and mentor Junior QA Engineers, fostering a culture of quality and best practices.
- Reporting: Create clear, concise, and timely QA metrics and status reports for project stakeholders and management.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for candidates with deep expertise and proven leadership ability:
- Experience: Minimum 5-6 years of progressive experience in Software Quality Assurance, with a mandatory strong background in both manual and automation testing.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Certification: Must hold an ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) certification.
- Automation Skills: Proven expertise in developing and maintaining test automation scripts and frameworks.
- Agile Proficiency: Extensive working experience within an Agile/Scrum or Kanban environment.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience in delegating tasks, reviewing work, and mentoring junior team members.
