🌟 Role Overview: The Backbone of Retail Tech
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Network Administrator to manage and maintain the core IT infrastructure for a prominent electronic retail giant in Sri Lanka. As the network administrator, you will be the key operational link ensuring seamless, secure, and high-speed connectivity across our head office and retail points.
Your primary focus will be on network stability, security implementation, and performance optimization to support high-volume retail transactions and internal operations.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Network Management: Install, configure, and maintain all network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points (WAPs), to ensure optimal performance.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and manage network security measures (e.g., VPNs, access control lists, intrusion detection) to protect retail data and intellectual property.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor network performance, analyze traffic, and rapidly troubleshoot complex connectivity and server issues (LAN/WAN/WLAN).
- Systems Administration: Administer and maintain Windows Server/Linux environments, including user accounts, permissions, and Active Directory services.
- Data Integrity: Oversee and execute regular backup and disaster recovery procedures for core network data.
- Support & Documentation: Provide escalated technical support to end-users and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date documentation of network topology, configurations, and procedures.
✅ Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a Network Administrator or similar role, preferably within a retail or multi-site business environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and subnetting.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-level networking hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
- Solid experience in managing and securing firewall platforms.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
