Job Description

ITJobs.lk is seeking an experienced and visionary Tech Lead to join a leading FinTech company in Colombo. This is a critical hybrid role where you will drive the architecture and technical execution of high-impact financial applications using a modern JavaScript stack: React for the front-end and Node.js for the backend services.

What You Will Do

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of talented software engineers, promoting a culture of high performance, code quality, and technical excellence.

  • Architecture & Design: Design, develop, and implement highly scalable, reliable, and secure microservices and APIs using Node.js (e.g., Express, NestJS).

  • Front-End Expertise: Oversee the development of robust and responsive user interfaces using React.js, Redux/Hooks, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.

  • Code Quality & Review: Establish coding standards, conduct rigorous code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices, including testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners and Business Analysts to translate business requirements into technical specifications and lead the breakdown of large features into manageable tasks.

  • DevOps & Cloud: Collaborate on deployment pipelines and manage applications hosted on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

 

Key Requirements (Must-Haves)

  • Experience: Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a Technical Lead or Senior Lead position.

  • Core Stack Mastery: Deep expertise in both React.js and Node.js ecosystems.

  • System Design: Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, high-performance applications, ideally within the FinTech, Banking, or high-transaction industries.

  • Database: Strong proficiency with both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).

  • Agile Proficiency: Extensive experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
