Our client, a premier leader in the Sri Lankan IT landscape, is seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to spearhead their technological evolution. This is a high-impact leadership role designed for a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between complex engineering and large-scale business objectives in the Fintech space.

The Role

As the CTO, you will be the primary architect of the company’s technical strategy. You will lead a high-performing engineering team, oversee the development of cutting-edge Fintech products, and ensure that the technology stack is scalable, secure, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a long-term technology roadmap aligned with the company’s business goals.

  • Fintech Innovation: Drive the development of secure, high-transaction financial platforms, ensuring compliance with global and local regulatory standards.

  • Team Mentorship: Lead, inspire, and grow a multi-disciplinary engineering department, fostering a culture of excellence and agility.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the technical face of the company, communicating complex strategies to the board, investors, and partners.

  • Infrastructure & Security: Oversee cloud architecture, cybersecurity protocols, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure 99.9% uptime for financial services.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Fintech Expertise: Significant prior experience within the Fintech domain is mandatory (Digital Banking, Payments, Wallets, or Lending platforms).

  • Proven Leadership: 15+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (CTO, Head of Engineering, /Technology).

  • Technical Depth: Deep understanding of scalable microservices, cloud-native architecture (AWS/Azure), and data security.

  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to manage large-scale budgets, resource forecasting, and vendor relationships.

  • Education: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or relevant leadership certifications are a plus.
