About the Opportunity
Are you a skilled network professional looking to secure and optimize critical financial infrastructure? One of Sri Lanka’s leading Financial Institutions is seeking a highly reliable and proactive Network Administrator to join their core IT infrastructure team based in Colombo.
In the financial sector, network stability and security are paramount. This full-time, onsite position offers a robust environment where you will take hands-on responsibility for maintaining, monitoring, and upgrading high-availability corporate networks, ensuring seamless operations across the institution.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the institution’s network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs).

Monitor network performance, uptime, and traffic configurations to optimize bandwidth and prevent system downtime.

Implement and enforce strict network security protocols, firewalls, access controls, and data encryption standards to safeguard sensitive financial information.

Manage network backups, disaster recovery protocols, and routine firmware/software updates across all network infrastructure.

Collaborate closely with system administrators and cybersecurity teams to de-risk network vulnerabilities and resolve high-priority hardware or connectivity issues.
Requirements & Skills

Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of proven hands-on experience as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer, preferably within banking, financial services, or a highly regulated enterprise infrastructure environment.

Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in routing and switching protocols, LAN/WAN setup, VLAN configurations, and managing next-generation firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, or Sophos).

Certifications: Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent network security credentials are highly advantageous.

Availability: This is a full-time, 100% onsite role based at the head office in Colombo, requiring the ability to provide on-call support for critical infrastructure maintenance outside standard hours when necessary.

Problem-Solving & Communication: Sharp analytical skills to troubleshoot complex network bottlenecks rapidly, combined with clear English communication skills for documentation and cross-team collaboration.
