As we expand our core engineering capabilities in our Colombo development center, we are seeking a visionary and technically accomplished Associate Tech Lead to guide our high-performing team into the next phase of digital transformation.
The Role: As an Associate Tech Lead, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and architectural design. You will be instrumental in driving technical excellence, mentoring software engineers, and collaborating with global product teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient fintech applications. This role offers a balanced Hybrid working model out of our modern Colombo office, providing the flexibility you need alongside a collaborative team culture.
Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust full-stack applications using React, Next.js, and Node.js.

Architecture & Code Quality: Enforce clean code architectures, conduct rigorous code reviews, and ensure adherence to security guidelines critical for fintech systems.

Team Mentorship: Guide, coach, and mentor senior and associate software engineers, fostering an agile, innovative, and continuous learning environment.

Collaboration: Partner closely with global Product Managers, Software Architects, and DevOps teams to align engineering deliverables with business milestones.

Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex architectural bottlenecks and optimize system performance for low-latency, high-availability financial applications.
Required Qualifications & Experience:

Industry Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1–2 years in a senior, mentoring, or sub-lead capacity.

Frontend Expertise: Strong, production-proven experience in building highly interactive and SEO-optimized web applications using React and Next.js.

Backend Expertise: Deep understanding of server-side engineering with Node.js (Express, NestJS, or similar frameworks) and asynchronous programming.

Data & Cloud: Solid experience working with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational databases, alongside familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Docker/Kubernetes environments.

Fintech Domain (Bonus): Prior experience in building financial systems, payment gateways, or highly secure data-driven platforms is highly advantageous.

Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and agile leadership capabilities.
