The Opportunity

ITJobs.lk is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient IT Executive to join a prominent Engineering company in Colombo. This is a crucial, hands-on onsite role where you will be responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of the company’s entire technology infrastructure.

If you have proven experience in hardware management, swift troubleshooting, and essential networking, this is an excellent opportunity to be the core IT support within a rapidly expanding industrial environment.

What You Will Do

  • Hardware & Software Management: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and standard office applications.

  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide timely and effective Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to all staff, resolving issues related to desktop PCs, printers, peripherals, and software errors.

  • Network Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the local area network (LAN), Wi-Fi access points, and essential network services (DNS, DHCP).

  • System Security: Assist in managing user accounts, access permissions, backups, and implementing basic security measures to protect company data.

  • Inventory: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, licenses, and service agreements.

  • Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external vendors and service providers for specialized support and procurement.

Key Requirements (Must-Haves)

  • Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in an IT Support or IT Executive role.

  • Strong practical knowledge of Hardware troubleshooting and PC repair/assembly.

  • Proven skills in configuring and managing basic Networking components (routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling).

  • Experience with Windows Server administration (basic user management and Active Directory knowledge is a plus).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, patience, and strong communication (in English) to explain technical issues to non-technical users.

  • A relevant professional qualification or degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
