Our client, a leading telecommunication giant in Sri Lanka, is seeking a motivated IT Support Executive to join their dynamic team in Colombo. This is a critical, hands-on role focused on providing excellent technical support and maintaining the operational efficiency of IT systems for a large-scale, enterprise environment.

šŸ”‘ Key Responsibilities

As an IT Support Executive, you will be the first point of contact for all technical queries and play a vital role in maintaining high employee productivity.

  • First-Line Support: Provide prompt and effective technical support (hardware, software, network) to end-users across all departments, resolving issues remotely or in person.
  • System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows/macOS), software applications, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.).
  • Network Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot basic to intermediate network connectivity issues (LAN/WLAN, VPN, TCP/IP) and escalate complex issues to the Network Administration team.
  • User Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups using Active Directory and other internal systems.
  • Asset Management: Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of IT assets, including tracking and procurement of new equipment.
  • Documentation: Create and update technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and incident logs for common support issues.
  • Security Adherence: Ensure all endpoint devices comply with the company’s security policies, including antivirus protection and patching.

āœ… Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience (1-2 years minimum) in an IT Help Desk, Desktop Support, or IT Support role, preferably within a large organization.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office 365 environments.
    • Familiarity with Active Directory for user and group management.
    • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
    • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, Service Now).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Sinhala/Tamil) and a strong commitment to customer service and problem resolution.
  • Working Hours: Must be willing to work full-time, onsite in Colombo.
