Our client, a leading Australian IT and consulting firm specializing in large-scale data transformation projects across finance and logistics sectors, is seeking an experienced and highly-qualified Senior Business Intelligence Developer.

What You’ll Deliver

As a Senior BI Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management, architecture, and governance of enterprise BI solutions. Key responsibilities include:

• BI Architecture & Governance: Design, implement, and govern robust, scalable data models (Star, Snowflake, Data Vault) within major Cloud Data Warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery).
• Complex Data Pipelines: Lead the development, optimization, and performance tuning of advanced ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Informatica, Talend, or dbt.
• Executive Reporting: Develop sophisticated and interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualisations using industry-leading tools like Power BI (highly preferred) or Tableau for executive decision-making.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate directly with C-suite executives and senior business stakeholders to gather complex reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce best practices for code review, data quality, and BI development lifecycle standards.

What You’ll Bring

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related quantitative field is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, or Data Engineer in an enterprise environment.
• Technical Stack:
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL (performance tuning, complex queries).
  • Demonstrated mastery of at least one major BI tool (Power BI or Tableau).
  • Proven experience working with a modern cloud data platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, with the ability to drive technical strategy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a relevant quantitative field is highly desirable.
• Certifications in relevant tools (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Azure Data Engineer).
