About the Company:

Our client is a premier, fast-growing Fintech enterprise based in Colombo, pioneering next-generation digital banking and financial ecosystem solutions. Driven by a culture of agility and high performance, they are expanding their core engineering team and looking for a visionary Tech Lead to drive the architectural evolution of their high-traffic platforms.

The Role:

As a Tech Lead, you will balance exceptional hands-on development with technical leadership. You will architect robust, scalable full-stack applications, enforce code quality benchmarks, and take ownership of product delivery. Beyond technical engineering, a major facet of this role involves mentoring, coaching, and managing a talented pool of junior developers to foster an environment of continuous growth.

This is a Hybrid role, offering the perfect blend of remote flexibility and collaborative, in-person whiteboard sessions at their Colombo headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and performant fintech applications using React, Next.js, and Node.js.

• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Actively manage, mentor, and guide junior and mid-level software developers, conducting constructive code reviews and helping them grow technically and professionally.

• Engineering Excellence: Champion best practices in system architecture, CI/CD pipelines, code modularity, testing automation, and security protocols typical of high-compliance fintech applications.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, UI/UX designers, and QA leads to translate complex financial business requirements into seamless technical execution.

• Problem Solving: Identify architectural bottlenecks, optimize application performance, and provide rapid technical resolutions for complex engineering challenges.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a matching professional qualification.

• Proven Leadership Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience leading, managing, or handling junior developers within an agile team environment.

• Advanced Full-Stack Expertise: Expert-level, commercial proficiency in building production-grade web applications using React, Next.js, and Node.js.

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, database management (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
