Job Description

ITJobs.lk is looking for a self-driven, high-performing Software Engineer to join an Australian-based client. This is a 100% Remote, Full-Time Permanent position for developers based in Sri Lanka.

Our client is looking for a “Frontend Specialist” who is comfortable across the full stack. If you are someone who takes pride in building seamless user interfaces but can also handle the backend logic when needed, this role is for you.

The Role

You will be working directly with the Australian engineering team. Because this is a remote role, we need a developer who is self-managed and can deliver high-quality code with minimal supervision.

  • Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

  • Location: 100% Remote (Sri Lanka)

  • Focus: ~70% Frontend (React), ~30% Backend (Node.js / Python)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain highly responsive web applications using React.

  • Build and optimize backend services using Node.js.

  • Assist in data processing or scripting tasks using Python.

  • Take full ownership of features, from initial architecture to final deployment.

  • Ensure code quality through rigorous testing and peer reviews.

  • Participate in daily stand-ups and technical discussions with the Australian team.

 

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional industrial experience (excluding internships).

  • Frontend Expertise: Advanced knowledge of React (Hooks, State Management, and Performance Optimization).

  • Backend Proficiency: Solid experience with Node.js; experience with Python is a significant advantage.

  • Communication: Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential for this global partnership.

  • Independence: Must be a self-starter. You should be able to navigate complex tasks and solve problems without needing constant hand-holding.

  • Soft Skills: High level of dedication, time management skills, and a “can-do” attitude.
