About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Senior AI Engineer / Consultant to join a fast-growing US-based company. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and integration of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions. As a key consultant, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy, collaborating directly with US stakeholders to drive innovation.

This is a 100% remote opportunity open to top-tier AI talent in Sri Lanka, offering a 1-year full-time contract with high potential for annual renewal based on performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • AI Architecture & Solution Design: Architect, build, and deploy scalable AI/ML models, GenAI/LLM integrations, and intelligent automation solutions tailored to business needs.

  • Consulting & Strategy: Act as a technical advisor to US leadership and client teams, translating complex business problems into actionable AI roadmaps.

  • Model Optimization & Pipeline Engineering: Fine-tune, evaluate, and optimize machine learning models for production performance, latency, and cost-efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with software engineers, product managers, and data engineers in the US to integrate AI systems into core product platforms.

  • Research & Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends in AI, LLMs, and agentic workflows to continuously improve technical capabilities and processes.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience in Software Engineering and Machine Learning, with a strong focus on building AI/ML applications in production environments.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Proficiency in Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.

    • Hands-on experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG architecture, and API frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.).

    • Solid background in Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and ML DevOps pipelines.

  • US Timezone Availability: Ability to work full-time aligning with US business hours.

  • Consulting & Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, with a track record of presenting technical solutions to international stakeholders.

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
