About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and hands-on Tech Lead to join a leading software development firm in Colombo. In this full-time hybrid role, you will lead a team of high-performing engineers building scalable, high-speed web applications, enterprise platforms, and cloud-native solutions using React and Next.js.
You will bridge the gap between technical architecture, product requirements, and engineering execution—driving technical excellence, mentoring developers, and maintaining high software quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture: Define technical vision, frontend architecture, and design patterns for web applications using React and Next.js.

Team Guidance & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and guide a team of software engineers through sprint planning, technical discussions, and code reviews.

Performance & Scalability: Optimize web applications for maximum execution speed, low latency, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility using Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), and modern caching strategies in Next.js.

Code Quality & Best Practices: Enforce clean code standards, automated testing (unit/integration), and maintain robust CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with UI/UX designers, backend architects, product managers, and executive stakeholders to translate complex requirements into actionable delivery roadmaps.
Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of commercial software development experience, with at least 1–2 years in a Tech Lead, Team Lead, or Senior Module Lead capacity.

Advanced Stack Mastery:

Advanced proficiency in React.js and Next.js (App Router / Pages Router).

Mastery of TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern state management tools (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Context API, or React Query / TanStack Query).

Deep expertise in styling frameworks such as Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, or Material UI.

Backend & API Integration: Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, serverless functions, and microservices architecture.

Engineering Standards: Strong grasp of Git workflows, web security (OWASP), CI/CD practices (Vercel, AWS, or Azure), and testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, or React Testing Library).

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical industry experience.

Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and verbal/written communication skills in English.
