About the Role
We are seeking a talented and proactive Senior Software Engineer (Frontend / React) based in Sri Lanka to join a leading global EdTech firm operating. This is a full-time, hybrid position offering a balance between collaborative office working and home flexibility.
In this role, you will build scalable, high-performing, and accessible web experiences used by millions of learners around the world. You will work across modern web development stacks—leveraging React, TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, and AWS—to build composition layers and customer-facing web applications.
Key Responsibilities

Frontend Engineering: Develop, maintain, and enhance modern frontend applications using React and TypeScript.

API Composition Layer: Develop and integrate composition layer APIs using GraphQL and AWS AppSync, alongside custom Node.js modules.

Performance & Accessibility: Optimize applications for maximum execution speed, scalability, and strict accessibility compliance (WCAG, ARIA standards).

Cloud & CI/CD Pipelines: Implement secure, scalable solutions on AWS and maintain best practices across continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) automation.

Code Quality & Agile Collaboration: Maintain high codebase quality using Git, lead peer code reviews, debug complex issues, and participate actively in agile squad ceremonies.
Requirements & Qualifications

Location & Work Setup: Must be based in Sri Lanka and available for a Hybrid work arrangement in Colombo.

Experience Level: Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in frontend or full-stack software development.

Core Technical Stack:

Strong hands-on expertise in React and TypeScript.

Proficiency in Node.js for backend interactions and composition layers.

Solid working experience with GraphQL and AWS AppSync.

Deep familiarity with cloud services (AWS), CI/CD automation pipelines, and version control via Git.

Accessibility Standards: Strong understanding of web accessibility best practices (WCAG, ARIA compliance).

Soft Skills: Excellent analytical problem-solving abilities, strong written and spoken English, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced agile setup.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
Good to Have Skills

Knowledge of modern design systems and UI/UX principles.

Exposure to serverless architectures and microservices design patterns.
