About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, proactive Senior .NET Engineer to join a leading IT firm in Colombo. This is a full-time hybrid position offered initially as a 1-year contract, with high potential for renewal based on project requirements and performance.

In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining high-performance, enterprise-grade back-end applications, microservices, and cloud-native solutions using the modern .NET ecosystem.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure, and resilient web applications and APIs using .NET 8 / .NET Core.

  • Architect microservices and RESTful APIs with efficient data access layers, messaging systems, and caching strategies.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following SOLID principles, Clean Architecture, and design patterns.

  • Optimize system performance, database queries, and API response times across enterprise cloud environments (Azure / AWS).

  • Lead code reviews, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and drive technical best practices within the team.

  • Partner with UI/UX designers, Front-End engineers, QA teams, and DevOps to deliver features in an Agile/Scrum framework.

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 4–5+ years of hands-on commercial software development experience in the .NET ecosystem.

  • Core Technical Stack:

    • Strong mastery of C#, .NET Core / .NET 8, and ASP.NET Core Web API.

    • Deep understanding of Entity Framework Core / Dapper and relational databases (SQL Server / PostgreSQL).

    • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure or AWS) and serverless/containerized deployments (Docker / Kubernetes).

    • Familiarity with messaging queue systems (RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or Kafka) and CI/CD pipelines.

    • Experience with unit testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, Moq) and test-driven development (TDD).

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, analytical thinking, and strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
