About the Role

We are seeking a structured, proactive, and results-driven Project Manager based in Sri Lanka to join a leading Australian FinTech firm on a full-time, remote basis. This position operates strictly aligned with Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT).

In this role, you will lead end-to-end project delivery across complex financial technology products, digital payment platforms, and cloud migrations. You will act as the single point of contact between Australian product leadership, executive stakeholders, and engineering squads.

Candidates with prior experience as a Technical Business Analyst (Technical BA) will be given strong priority.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of software engineering projects within the FinTech domain using Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Define project scope, timelines, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and delivery roadmaps in collaboration with product managers and tech leads.

  • Facilitate daily Scrum stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Translate business and financial domain requirements into technical backlogs, detailed user stories, and acceptance criteria (leveraging your Technical BA background).

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain clear, proactive communication across distributed teams in Australia and Sri Lanka.

  • Track project progress, budget metrics, and team velocity using Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile tools.

  • Ensure solutions adhere to Australian financial compliance standards, security protocols, and strict quality benchmarks.

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Location & Work Setup: Must be based in Sri Lanka and strictly available to work during Australian Timezone hours (AEST/AEDT).

  • Experience: Minimum 4–5+ years of project management experience in software development, preferably in FinTech, Digital Payments, or Banking.

  • Technical BA Advantage: Prior hands-on experience as a Technical Business Analyst (SRS documentation, API workflows, database schemas, Figma wireframing) is highly preferred and prioritized.

  • Agile Mastery: Deep expertise in Agile/Scrum frameworks; CSM, PMP, or PMI-ACP certifications are an added advantage.

  • Tools Proficiency: Advanced expertise in Jira, Confluence, MS Project/Asana/ClickUp, and diagramming tools (Lucidchart, Miro).

  • Communication & Leadership: Exceptional written and spoken English skills with proven ability to build rapport with Australian executive clients.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
